World Climate Forum ASIA

14th - 15th October, 2020

World Climate Forum Asia (WCF Asia) 2020 will bring together key partners in exploring new opportunities in the fast growing Asia Pacific market. The Forum will focus on ways the public and private sector can innovate, collaborate and scale local and international solutions to navigate Asia's transition to a clean economy. The programme will be divided into two days: day one will focus on the energy transition and infrastructure, day two will focus on recovery and adaptation. The key drivers highlighted across both days and sessions are finance, policy, innovation and partnerships.

World Climate Forum Asia will catalyse regional climate action from this high growth continent and contribute to the global agenda at World Climate Summit 2021 during COP26 in Glasgow and beyond. World Climate Forum Asia will support the mobilisation of local and international efforts and leverage green financial and economic models for the net-zero transition. High-level discussions will prioritise scalable public and private sector strategies on growing carbon markets, the blue economy, and nature-based solutions.

Objectives

World Climate Forum Asia will gather senior policymakers and key public and private actors from around the world for action-oriented discussions on advancing net-zero targets, with a focus on Asia and the Pacific regions. The second event of the 2020 Series, this Forum will utilise the pivotal takeaways, best practices and outcomes from World Climate Forum North America, to continue building momentum towards World Climate Summit and COP26 in 2021.

This Forum will facilitate scaling knowledge into best practice and build meaningful public-private sector partnerships via multiple digital touchpoints involving interactive engagement hubs, while creating immersive experiences and more meaningful, longer-term connectivity, between key stakeholders.

Format

Its engaging digital format combines dynamic keynotes, interactive panel discussions, and informative workshops delivered through webinars and podcasts produced to the highest standard via live and on-demand.

In addition, World Climate Forum’s unique value proposition – our Engagement Hubs will facilitate the collaborative definition of areas for solution development, engage key customer and influencer groups, and allow for best practices to be developed, defined, and shared through our web-based platforms.

In its inaugural edition, a select number of key stakeholders will be invited to participate in each of the action-oriented World Climate Forums.

These will include institutional investors, financiers, policymakers and government leaders, technology and project developers, renowned academics, and representatives of non-governmental organisations.
